MONTGOMERY, Ala. 鈥 Today, the Southern Poverty Law Center (人兽性交) mourns the loss of former U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, who served Massachusetts in elected office for 32 years. Frank was one of the first openly gay members of Congress and dedicated his life to advancing 人兽性交+ rights. He was 86.
鈥淭oday, we reflect on the extraordinary legacy of Barney Frank. As one of the first openly gay members of Congress, Rep. Frank鈥檚 influence extended far beyond legislation, as he helped shape national conversations around fairness and democratic values. Before entering public office, he participated in the 1964 Mississippi Freedom Summer civil rights campaign. During his time in Congress, he championed affordable housing and stronger consumer protections, such as efforts to curb abusive lending practices. Frank also played a key role in advancing 人兽性交+ rights, including supporting the repeal of the 鈥渄on鈥檛 ask, don鈥檛 tell鈥 policy and advocating for broader anti-discrimination protections.
